Samuel Mileham was born in 1763 in Hurst, Berkshire, England.
On the 7th February 1793, in Wokingham, Berkshire, Samuel Mileham married Hannah Wotton.
Hannah was born in Hurst in 1770.
Samuel and Hannah had 4 children (none of them are your ancestor).
1. James Mileham, baptised 24th August 1794 in Hurst. Nothing else known.
2. Elizabeth Mileham, baptised 9th July 1797 in Hurst. Elizabeth married Edward Keates, a Musician, on the 10th August 1822 in Hurst.
3. Sarah Mileham, baptised 9th December 1798 in Hurst. Sarah never married and died in 1832 age 35 in Hurst.
4. Ann Mileham, baptised 10th February 1805 in Hurst. Nothing else known.
Hannah Mileham (nee Wotton) died in 1806, aged 36. She was buried on the 29th October 1806 in St Nicholas Churchyard, Hurst, Berkshire.
Her headstone reads:
" In memory of Hannah, the wife of Samuel Milham (Mileham) who departed this life on the 24th October 1906.
Also William and Ann (unreadable) and daughter of the above named, who died in their infancy."
On the 17th February 1808 at St. Lawrence, Reading, Berkshire, widower Samuel Mileham married Ann Stears.
(Ann Stears is your X4 Great Grandmother).
Ann Stears was born in 1774, place as yet unknown.
On the 24th April 1803 in St Mary, Marylebone, Middlesex, London (after banns) Ann Stears married Joseph Sedunary (Sedenary?)
One month after the marriage, Ann gave birth to a son, Joseph Edward Sedunary.
Joseph was born on the 19th May 1803 in Marylebone, Westminster, London, and baptised on the 5th June 1803 at St Mary, Marylebone.
His father Joseph, seems to have disappeared shortly after.
Family stories say that he went back to Italy to get some money and died, or was murdered.
In1796 Napoleon was welcomed in Italy as he deposed the Este family (Dukes of Modena).
Anyone connected to the Court would have had to flee, and many of them came to England.

After Samuel Mileham married Ann Stears, Samuel raised Joseph as one of his own.
In his Will, he insisted all his children children be treated equally and fairly, that any monies left after debts had been paid, be divided equally between them, including Joseph.

Ann Stears died in 1824 in Hurst, Berkshire, aged 50. She was buried on the 4th July 1824 in Hurst.

"My grandmother Florence May Wise, told me that when she was a girl she spent a great deal of time with her great grandmother Mary Ann Mileham. When Mary Ann's husband died she was left with a family to bring up and was so poor that she had to work picking up stones from the neighbouring fields for the farmer. One day she had literally no money left at all when the vicar called. After he had gone she found that he had left money on the table."
